Paul McCartney live: Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles

Paul McCartney performed at the Hollywood Bowl, USA, on 16 April 1993.

It was not part of his ongoing New World Tour, but was instead a headline appearance at the Earth Day concert, with support from 10,000 Maniacs, Don Henley, PM Dawn, KD Lang, Bruch Cockburn, Kenny Loggins, and The Steve Miller Band. Tickets were priced between $25 and $1,250.

McCartney’s band was Linda McCartney on vocals, keyboards, and percussion; Hamish Stuart on guitar, bass guitar, and vocals; Robbie McIntosh on guitar and vocals; Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens on keyboards and vocals; and Blair Cunningham on drums and percussion.

During ‘Hope Of Deliverance’ McCartney was joined on vocals by KD Lang. The finale was ‘Hey Jude’, which saw backing vocals by Ringo Starr and all the support acts.

The Beatles performed three triumphant shows at the Hollywood Bowl on 23 August 1964 and 29 and 30 August 1965, which were recorded by Capitol Records. Highlights from the recordings were released in 1977 as The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl. McCartney returned there on 30 and 31 March 2010.
