Paul McCartney recorded a version of ‘Fabulous’ during the sessions for his 1999 album Run Devil Run.

‘Fabulous’ was written by Harold Land and Kal Mann, the latter using the pseudonym Jon Sheldon.

The song was first recorded by Charlie Gracie in 1957. ‘Fabulous’ was a hit in the UK, reaching number six on the singles chart.

McCartney recorded his version of ‘Fabulous’ at Abbey Road Studios on 1 March 1999, during the first recording session for the album.

It was released as a b-side of his single ‘No Other Baby’ in November 1999. The single was also included in the 2022 box set The 7″ Singles Box.

In 2007, when Run Devil Run was re-released on the iTunes Store, ‘Fabulous’ was included as a bonus track.

McCartney performed ‘Fabulous’ live on just one occasion, at Liverpool’s Cavern Club on 14 December 1999.
