Ringo Starr played the part of the undertaker who collects Michael Palin's body at the end of the sketch. He was reprising his role as the undertaker in the symbolic and iconic march across Abbey Road on the Abbey Road album cover (John = priest, Ringo = undertaker, Paul = dead, George = gravedigger). However, it was cut, as the Pythons usually never formally ended any of their sketches, but simply rolled into the next one.

They were singing the complete bawdy version of Maggie Mae , which nearly resulted in the closure of Pablo Fanques Fair. This song often created a lot of confusion, because, of course, Henry the Horse could only dance a waltz and his timing was really off.

In most seasons, naturally harvested aquatic deep-sea hams flourished in octopus' gardens off the American coast...until the historic Underwater Ham Famine of 1962-3 rendered those years' crops almost entirely unusable.
