He learned it from Eric Clapton at the little-remembered Concert for Span-gladesh.

For which ballad from the musical “The Music Man” did the Beatles do a cover?

Raymond Willigan was a guy from Northumberland who bought one of the 32 million pressed copies of “Abbey Road “. Ringo has a long-term project to write and record an original song for each individual who’s ever purchased a Beatles album; accordingly, he’s postponed his plans to pass away until the year 2567 – and longer if necessary, depending how many additional albums are sold in the interim.

Why didn’t George switch from lead guitar to bass after Stu left?

He was already sent home from Hamburg because he was just seventeen (if you know what I mean), but the band needed a bass player ASAP when Stu started hanging out with Astrid. Luckily they had enough spare guitar players still in town, so they chose Paul.

How is Paul related to Faul and how are both related to Ringo?

There is no Faul or Paul, as they are both Fig Newtons of Ringo’s imagination.

“It’s Love – You – To! Not Love To You or Love You Too or Love Me Do ! And it’s the second best song on Revolver because George Harrison is a genius and still underrated!”

What does the sign say carried by Ringo on the cover of the White Album ?

An excellent question. The running time using North American electrical standards is officially 5631 seconds*, but this can fluctuate to anywhere between 5627 and 5638 seconds within the UK and Europe. (*When played at the standard 33 1/3 rpm; playing it at 45rpm reduces playing time to 4171 seconds – just under 70 minutes. Me, I play my copy on a non-functioning turntable at exactly 0.0 rpm, so it will take me eternity.)

How did George Martin convince Paul to rethink his plan to overdub clarinets and French horns onto “I’m Down “?

He blew his mind out in a car.

When Jim McCartney tried to convince Paul not to use “yeah” in songs because it sounded too American, what word did he suggest sounded better?

The very British “Oi”  (She loves you, Oi! Oi! Oi!), or “Oggy, Oggy, Oggy!”

On what song were they working when George told Paul, “I’ll play what you want me to play. I won’t play at all if you don’t want me to. Whatever it is that will please you, I’ll do it.”

Love You To . George didn’t take the criticising Paul seriously at first, but then Paul dressed up as Ravi Shankar and George agreed to play the sitar just the way Paul/”Ravi” wanted to.

What You’re Doing , which actually has no drums in the mix.  It was hot that Fall in London, so the Abbey Road studio doors were propped open.  A lorry idling outside continually backfired and the sound was captured and incorporated into the rhythm track.

Who or what was hiding under the stage at Shea Stadium and for what purpose?

The then-First Lady of the United States, Ladybird Johnson, had an 1-bath studio apartment underneath the stadium, with wood paneling (quite popular at the time) from Norway.  This is actually where John slept after the concert, at her invitation, in the bathtub. While the Beatles were not allowed to arrive in the stadium via helicopter, Ladybird Johnson departed that way the very next morning, to go back to Washington.  John was heard to say that this ‘Bird had flown. To not bring scandal to the President of the United States, John burned the apartment to remove all evidence of the event.

And then John thought he could write a song about this experience.

What was the original working title for the motion picture Help ! ?

Because the idea for the film was conceived when John was younger, so much younger than when it was to be released (which was, at one point, today), the original working title was Don’t Help !

What major connection do the Beatles have to Canada?

George made the mistake of announcing he loved maple syrup in an interview once, so for years crowds would throw lashings of the stuff onto stage at live performances. (No wonder he hated touring!)

Randolph Peter “Pete” Better. He was also a famous drummer during his early days in Liverpool and Hamburg, easily outmatching fellow drummer Pete Good. But when Pete Better found out there was a Pete Best and he also had to replace him, he changed his name to Ringo Starr to avoid any comparisons, which he would have lost by default.

Not sure what your question is @Ahhh Girl… but the correct pronunciation should be “Glad he didn’t ‘go with him.'” ahdn_john_08_gif

As for MMD’s question…Glass Onion was another Ringo-ism that was carried over from the Please Please Me sessions, which was in fact tried on every session in between. Ringo originally said Class Union in an attempt to be the first Beatle to stand up against oppression.  Since no-one in the band knew what the heck he was talking about, John changed the words slightly to really confuse the rest of us.

Revolution 9 , it counters the effects of the devilish Rock and Roll and gets even the meanest teddy boys back on the right track. May include side effects when used backwards.
