George gave the answer, “as often as possible” to a question during their 1964 US Tour. What was the question?

The question was “Do you ever post answers on the “Beatles Trivia – Even Easier!” thread?

Beatlebug’s question went unanswered, so here it is again:

Who was left off the cover of the 1967 Limited Edition of Sgt. Pepper ?

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

The King of Rock and Roll recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis. So, of course, the answer is SUN KING.

When does Mother Mary come to Paul?

I’m A Beatles Believer, which John Lennon would later, famously, renounce, in his solo song ‘God ‘.

Which Beatles son shares a birthday with his famous father?

Of course, Julian Lennon (b. 8th April 1963) shares his birthday with his father. In an effort to thwart Fleet Street journalists and appease fans, Brian Epstein persuaded Cynthia to write the name ‘Philip IV of Spain’ under the father’s name on the birth certificate. The fact that Philip had died in 1665 was only uncovered recently thanks to Mark Lewioshn’s research for volume two of his Beatles biography.

If George was the Taxman , Ringo was Your Man and Paul was the Walrus. Who was John, and what play were they rehearsing?

Trick question! It was Pete Best and Henry The Horse. They attempted a highway robbery on Ringo where they tried to steal his suitcase containing his drumsticks, but thankfully Ringo was able to escape through the hole in pocket to Pepperland , where he could call on the help of Sgt Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band to apprehend the fiendish pair!a-hard-days-night-ringo-10

George Harrison had his mind set on Weird Al Yankovic having his mind set on George Harrison for making a song called “I’ve Got My Mind Set On You” that he was set to make a set parodying the song. How could George Harrison forget about the set that Weird Al set his mind doing “I’ve Got My Mind Set On You” and thus, George was set on getting his mind set to make I’ve Got My Mind Set On You.

Who was the best Beatle on “Best of the Beatles”?

Well, special guest “Richie ‘Starry’ Rings” (billing enforced by EMI) and his remarkable contributions to the 16:01 instrumental title cut (a “drum battle”, with fine proto-psychedelic surf guitar from “Hutch” Blubbins and jazzy 8-string amplified tea-chest provided by Teddy “No Relation” Starkey) are enough to make it close. But bandleader Pete “Bettor” Best and his contributions to Side Two – six art-pop songs exquisitely written, sung (multitracked), arranged in suite form and orchestrated by himself – are remarkable. “Tie Me To Your Heart” and “Cafe in The Dingle” in particular are classics, and ultimately push Ringo into the “second-most-valuable-past-or-present-Beatle” slot here. This one time, Pete was truly “the best Beatle” – and the record sold about 7 copies.

When Michael Lindsay-Hogg asked George and Paul to improvise a sort of “Paul lectures George” conflict, what did they come up with?

George: Ringo?!?! That was me you stupid git!

Surprisingly, Geoff Emerick plays the glockenspiel solo. It’s mentioned in his book:

“Paul asked me if I could play the glockenspiel because I mentioned I could speak German. I was frightened of him so I said yes. The solo is pretty a psychedelic take on the theme to Steptoe and Son.”

After George criticised his taste in ties, what did George Martin take to wearing for the next three years every time the Beatles were at Abbey Road ?
