Paul McCartney performed at the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 28 May 2016.
It was the 13th show of the One On One Tour, which lasted for 77 dates between April 2016 and December 2017.
McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
The guitar riff for ‘Slidin”, from 2020’s McCartney III, originated from the soundcheck on this day. The jam was issued as a bonus track on some versions of the album.
Slidin' came from a soundcheck jam when we were playing in Dusseldorf in Germany. During soundchecks when I’m checking my guitar, I like to try and make something up and the band will join in #TimsTwitterListeningParty #McCartneyIII
