Paul McCartney live: O2 Arena, London

Sir Paul McCartney was joined onstage by Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl during the first of two shows at London’s O2 Arena.

Grohl joined McCartney’s band on a rendition of The Beatles’ ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ during the first encore. McCartney had previously collaborated with the former members of Nirvana on the 2012 song ‘Cut Me Some Slack’.

The show also saw the UK debut of ‘Hope For The Future’ and the Beatles song ‘Another Girl’, and the first-ever live performance of McCartney’s song ‘Temporary Secretary’, from the 1980 album McCartney II.

It was the 72nd concert of McCartney’s long-running Out There tour, and his 50th show in London. It was McCartney’s first show at the O2 since December 2011. He also performed at the venue in December 2009.

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
