Paul McCartney live: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit

Paul McCartney brought his long-running Out There tour to the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

It was the 91st and penultimate date of the tour, which began on 4 May 2013 at the Estadio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

During the first encore McCartney invited a girl celebrating her 17th birthday onto the stage, and led the crowd into a singalong of Happy Birthday. He and the band then performed The Beatles’ 1968 song Birthday, an impromptu addition to the setlist.

A newlywed couple also made it onto the stage, and the bride, Brianne Kiesgen, was rewarded with a McCartney signature on her shoulder.

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).

Here’s a clip of the opening three songs of the show:
