Interview: John Lennon for Playboy

David Sheff concluded his interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono for Playboy on 28 September 1980.

Sheff arrived at the Dakota Building, but Lennon and Ono suggested they go for breakfast at the La Fortuna café at 69 West 71st Street, Manhattan.

“The café was crowded. I noticed a photo of John, Yoko, and Sean on the wall amid an array of pictures of the café owner’s family and friends. Before we sat down, Yoko remembered some business she had forgotten. ‘I’ll meet you back here in a minute,’ she said. John suggested we sit in the café’s back patio. On our way out, we ordered cappuccinos. We found a table in the corner and huddled there over our coffees to talk.
