John Lennon and Yoko Ono were interviewed by David Sheff for Playboy on 11 September 1980.
Sheff arrived at the Dakota Building at noon, and was given instructions to find Lennon and Ono at the La Fortuna café. He accompanied them to A&R Recording for a vocal overdub session, and afterwards returned with them to the Dakota to begin the interview on the record. Sheff also spoke to the couple on 12, 15, 17, 24, 25, and 28 September 1980.
