The day after the final mixes for Rubber Soul were made, producer George Martin finalised the running order for the songs.
Once the sequencing had been decided, Martin telephoned the running order to EMI Studios at Abbey Road. On 17 and 19 November master discs were made, and the album was quickly manufactured ahead of its UK release on 3 December 1965.

George Martin determined the order of the songs – not the band? For me and my band, that’s one of the most important things to decide on. The flow of the album is very important. I wonder if Martin ran it by the band first before finalizing.
Martin did a lot of “other” things for the Beatles. He was trusted
