Offline Talking of Paul being dead BBC Radio 4 recently broadcast ‘Paul Is Dead‘ (programme details are in the link) and its available on the iplayer (as per normal it depends on where you are in the universe to be able to listen to it).

Offline One of the points of the George ‘testement’ was the clues all thru Revolver and Rubber Soul … proving it is too easy to read anything into almost anything. (?)
Any real hints will be unmistakeable, – and there they are, lots and lots of them. Backwards speech… well let’s just ignore the whole Crowley legend, and….
Well, I hope he’s Okay, and there’s some other explanation besides whatever variation it is this week…
I mean… his pals… and Geo. Martin swore up and down he was fine… as did John/Paul/Ringo…. so if he wasn’t …. and even the other Beatles and bigshots couldn’t come out with the truth… and people started getting attacked or killed by ‘crazed fans’ …then maybe we should all just pipe down. Right. I know nothing…. nothink!

Offline This Paul is dead nonsense – I don’t remember anyone in the UK taking it seriously when the story first emerged. I am not one to rule out conspiracy theories(the CIA came up with this term) on the knee-jerk, but this one is silliness personified.
This piece of fiction is not only crazy, it’s really quite insulting both to Paul McCartney , his family and his many millions of admirers.
I guess it’s a bizarre form of flattery. When you becomes as famous as the Beatles, a conspiracy theory becomes almost inevitable.

Been wondering this for a while. where better to get intelligent opinions than here.
I assume that all the clues and such had to be planted by someone.. maybe none of the 4 were involved. But when i saw Paul tell Letterman that the reason he is bare foot on Abbey Road was because it was hot so he took off his sandals.. my BS meter went off… First of all, if it was that hot – it would be hotter walking on asphalt with bare feet than with sandals. and why not take off your jacket instead. It just doesn’t make sense.
No one can convince me that the clues on Sgt. Pepper and others were just a coincidence. The question is who else could have done it, did the beatles know, and why deny it to this day? also the bare foot thing… what do you think??
I will be reading the Paul is dead posts to get better info.. Thanks in advance..

Offline I’ve walked barefoot on the road without sandals and it can be remarkably relaxing if its a hot day, and Paul only took them off for a short period – plus they had been out for a while in the heat. I’m always taking my sandals off in the summer when out and about.
As for his suit jacket it may well have been an artistic reason for keeping it on – it may have looked daft in the cover if Paul was without it on.

Some of the “clues” ARE coincidence, others were planted by the Beatles themselves as a joke. And if you have a BS meter, take my advice and use it on the “Paul Is Dead” theories. It’ll ring like a school bell.
