I’m pretty sure that the person who made that wasn’t expecting to be taken seriously and it was done pretty much as a joke. There’s a similar mockumentary called Elvis Found Alive.

Maybe Paul died when he was 14 and Jim was so sad that Mary disguised as Paul then in 1966 after the car crash (where she only had minor cuts) she realized that pretending to be her dead son wasn’t a great idea and used her old hospital connections to get a dead body then blew up the car to hide the evidence so people would think Paul is dead. Then she went to “Paul’s” funeral with Jim.

Ugh, don’t ever let the PIDiots get a whiff of that, AD40, because you know they’ll eat it up. After all; some of them already believe Paul is Barack Obama’s mother…. Or is that Faul? I can’t keep up!
Or how about that spoof news article about Ringo, in which he claims to be the last remaining Beatle? The website that published it is akin to the Onion (oooooh, another clue!) and clearly states its satirical nature, yet the “””Truthers””” (I would add more quotation marks but you get the gist) constantly quote it as truth. And of course there’s the Italian Wired article which apparently “””proves””” Paul was replaced – which it doesn’t, not in the least, but what do we know? We’re only a bunch of sheeple and disinfo agents, too blind to see the obvious. You know, I actually have been accused of being a CIA agent, paid to spread lies about Paul/Faul. So I told them, if I was an agent, paid to keep Paul’s death under wraps, they better start paying me soon, since I haven’t gotten a single cent thus far!
I’ve come up with a lovely theory myself, you know. And I dare say it’s the best one yet, because mine ensures that Paul can never prove he is who he says he is. Funnily enough, I don’t think any of the PIDiots have ever proposed that particular theory yet. I’ll post it here, for a lark, if anyone wants to hear it.
In the meantime, here’s a cute little video which popped up in my YouTube suggestions. I usually hate the videos they suggest, but I rather enjoyed this one. It seems to be a very loose PIA picture comparison, but not overtly so. I just wish I had all the photos used in it, because there are some lovely ones in there.

I feel like everybody that I ever see mentioning the rumor either dismisses it/knows it’s not true or says that they believe it jokingly/ironically.

Offline Oh, they definitely do, Necko! The plasticmacca blog is still being updated, and so is the 60if board, though both appear to be dying a slow death. The YT comment section still sees frequent and heated arguments, though. Like I said, I have been accused of being.a PIAgent, and that was very recent! Like, a few weeks ago.

Believe it or not, I’ve been in to some recent heated arguments with a couple of PID believers. They’re still out there. Most people I know or run across, though, yeah, dismiss it and are just amused by it like I am.

Offline I recently spent (wasted) an hour or so watching some you tube presentations on this myth. Very typical, if somewhat cheesy low-budget versions of the conspiracy theory video: ominous music, a voice-over narration sounding professionally serious, montages of still photos that are supposed to show ludicrous things (like two different photos of Paul that are supposed to look so different, it must be two different people — as though people don’t sometimes look different on different days, etc.). Perhaps the silliest notion I heard was that some other guy who knew Paul became the new Paul after Paul’s death.
Just now I was looking at a webpage about it, and one detail they obsess about is that the pre-dead Paul’s earlobe is attached, while the posthumous Paul’s earlobe seems to be unattached. I grant that the latter photos do show that, but the former photos could just be showing an artifact of photo angle and lighting — and probably a few minutes of research into old photos of Paul’s head would disprove this point.
At the point where this webpage claimed that John was assassinated because he was going to tell the world about Paul’s death, I clicked it closed in tears of laughter.
