Update: I was safe to open it

So a few months ago I finally got...
- Bella Donna (1981) and
- The Wild Heart (1983) by Stevie Nicks
- Tusk (1979) by Fleetwood Mac
I got
- Barrett (1970) by Syd Barrett
- Wet Dream (1978) by Richard Wright (yes, only maybe a week before they announced that Steven Wilson would be remixing it and it's coming out later this month
- The Joshua Tree (1987) and All That You Can't Leave Behind (2000) by U2
- Say You Will (2003) by Fleetwood Mac (something of an impulse buy after randomly getting obsessed with a couple of the songs, then watching a making-of documentary)
- The Endless River (2014) by Pink Floyd
I've really been rounding out my collection, sort of filling in the gaps with albums that I have either put off purchasing for one reason or another, or consider less important/lower priority. Lots of latter-day or solo projects here.
It looks like a lot, but I buy a lot of super cheap beat-up used copies of CDs on eBay because I am Cheap(TM)

...sensible! I'd estimate that 65-70% of my lifetime of purchases (vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD) have been previously-owned ones, better to spread em around cheap than to waste resources pressing new x-pensive ones!
...And so, I'm happy for whoever now has my own old CD copy of "Belladonna" which I ditched before a 2017 move. (Still got the 2Cd "Tusk" tho!)

Went to a local used bookstore for my sister's birthday and I found a nice vinyl copy of Wings At The Speed Of Sound for a VERY good price...
(store name blotted out bc it's a local store and I am not doxxing myself today)
Whoever owned it previously seems to have possessively inscribed it with her name, Nancy. I joked that it must've belonged to Paul's wife.
I also found a CD of Fate Of Nations by Robert Plant & I've heard & liked a couple songs from it so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I also recently impulse bought a couple of George Harrison
records on eBay because they were decently priced and I make wise financial decisions
I already have 33 & 1/3rd on CD, but IT'S LITERALLY TITLED 33 & 1/3rd so OBVIOUSLY I need it on vinyl.
Now I just have to fix my turntable

That reminds me of an experience I had standing in line at a Tower records store during the last days when it was finally imploding and going out of business. Not sure how long ago it was, whether it was post- or pre-911. Anyway, the store was understaffed and the customer at the counter was embroiling the clerk at the counter with some questions he couldn't answer right away. Meanwhile, three of us were in line waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting... After a while, I noticed the guy in front of me was doing something making a lot of noise. It dawned on me that he was literally undoing the elaborate packaging of the CD he was in line to purchase -- Tower packaged them in insanely difficult to unravel plastic wrapping + plastic tabs and crap. After several minutes, when the clerk clearly wasn't going to be moving the pace along, the guy in front of me just walked out of the store -- with his CD unpaid for (and the packaging probably flung to the floor. The clerk remained utterly oblivious.

After many years I have decided to fill in the gaps in the Beatles/solo LPs I own as why not. To that end today I purchased '1', the 2016 iteration of 'Live At The Hollywood Bowl' (forgot that existed on vinyl) and John's 'Menlove Avenue'.
I think I'm only missing three official UK Beatles albums out of everything released on LP since 'Please Please Me '. I've no interest in what edition or pressing I buy and who knows if I'll ever find 'Live At The BBC Volume 2' anywhere. I'm not planning to just walk in and buy a new copy tho, would rather try and find it in a second hand/used store.

What do you know.
I found two copies of 'On Air: BBC V2' today, so I bought one along along with 'Love' and 'On Air: BBC V1' (I already have the '94 BBC but there are such notable differences it's almost a different album). A few days ago I came to buy the 1980 US 'Rarities' in a local record shop and the 12" 'Take It Away' single. That record shop also has 1st pressings of Beatles UK albums but I really don't care enough to spend £100+ on a record I already have regardless of when it was pressed.
After all of this of all the UK albums I only require 'Yellow Submarine Soundtrack' and 'Past Masters ' (the latter I do have in the 2014(?) box but that doesn't count here). I know where a copy of 'YSS' exists but neither can be I bothered to get there nor do I think it's worth the price they want. I will keep a look out for the missing US albums and any foreign LP's, but not things like a Mexican 'Abbey Road ' or 'Please Please Me ' from Outer Peru. Bootlegs I'm staying away from.

Recently bought a CD copy of Abbey Road - Unpopular Opinion - Abbey Road is the same quality as Hackney Diamonds.
We are living in a time when another great classic Rock album is released. This one- made up of 12 tracks (10 of which are guaranteed great) comes out sounding like the Stones are 20. The mixing by Andy Watt makes it pop and scream, which is why it never gets old - not after 170+ times. Live By The Sword is my favorite, I love that it sounds so raw! Already, there should be a thread discussion Paul's contribution to Bite My Head Off.
I really don't care what you naysayers think. This album rocks, and I can't wait to see it listed in collectible Rock magazines. Platinum status in 4 countries and #1 in 20 countries!

My latest addition is Vee-Jay's 'Introducing The Beatles'. Also available was 'Hear The Beatles Tell All' but that is such a pointless and dreadful record I fail to see the benefit of having a copy.
In another store I could buy the 'WTB' and 'McCartney' record covers without the records. Not sure why you would want to. I certainly didn't.

I got three albums today.
I've been looking for Transformer by Lou Reed for months at this point, and finally I FOUND IT.
I got Man who sold the world by David Bowie, because I don't have any Bowie albums (Which is tragic) and because it's a good album. It's my favortie Bowie album and I will stand by that and until I listen to a better Bowie album.
Then when I was looking for Beatles albums I found Yesterday
and Today on CD with the Butcher cover. Weird.
But still no luck on finding a CD copy of White Light/White Heat by the Velvet Underground. I've been looking for one since November. I tried to order one but it was damaged so I got a refund instead.

Damn, that sucks. But keep trying, they're out there, on eBay and Am@zon and elsewhere. Good luck!
(...and no, sorry; you can't have my copy, neither the CD nor the original vinyl I found in 1988 for $22, #humblebrag. Sorry!)

....not even a chance on borrowing it?
My main set back on getting the album is that I can't shop at very many places to get it. Most of my local stores that do sell CDs don't stock much of Velvet's music. I'm stuck to about 3 stores. There's also a rule my house that we can't buy things online (with a few exceptions for certain stores and products but music is not one of them) it's a really annoying rule that makes shopping for certain things really hard. I mean most people in my house don't even follow the rule in the first place. I'm mostly down to luck and timing at this point. It was in stock a little while ago but when I got to the store someone else had already bought it. One day...One Day

Aw man, if we lived in the same town, I'd definitely let you borrow my CD indefinitely! And take the local bus to retrieve it when you were through (I don't drive)...but alas, that's not the case....
It's indeed a bummer that you can't shop online, so you'll have to console yourself that you (we) live in a world where you can at least easily listen to "Sister Ray" and "Lady Godiva's Operation" and "I Heard Her Call My Name" and the rest on YouTube or Apple/Spotify which I certainly couldn't do (or even have imagined) as an 80s teenager, in a pre-internet world, where all the Velvets' albums were out of print and scarce for over a decade (before being reissued in 1984).
In other words, I'M VERY OLD!
