I’ve gotten a few things over the past few months, so here’s what’s new.
Record Store Day stuff:
– Regimental Sgt. Zippo – Elton John
– The Same Stardust EP – Styx – (translucent blue vinyl)
– Angel Dream (Songs and Music from the Motion Picture “She’s the One”) – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – (cobalt blue vinyl)
– Humdinger/Feelin’ High – The Dirty Knobs
– Get Lucky – Loverboy – (white vinyl)
I was also wanting to get Rory Gallagher’s Cleveland Calling Pt. 2 and Def Leppard’s Live In Oxford, but unfortunately couldn’t find them. Maybe someday.
As for other stuff, my mum got me Platinum Blonde’s Seven Year Itch compilation CD as an early Christmas/birthday gift, as well as something she found looking through some of her keepsakes in the basement…

My best friend gave me these for Christmas.
First she made me watch the prequel trilogy, back in July. Then she watched my Star Wars obsession deepen and expand to include repeat listening to John Williams’ gorgeous scores. Now she’s enabling my addiction
Now I just gotta get The Phantom Menace soundtrack to complete the trilogy (and also ANAKIN’S THEME IS GORGEOUS)

Hang on – you have seen the originals, haven’t you?
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Yes, of course, lol. Sorry for the confusing wording of the post, I had been a fan of Star Wars since I saw the originals when I was like 12, but I didn’t get obsessed till I saw the prequels.
Anyway so I made some post-Christmas gifts-to-myself acquisitions and two came in the mail today:
My first Fleetwood Mac purchase – 982’s Mirage (not Rumours or the eponymous White Album , you say? Well, this is actually my favorite Fleetwood album that I’ve listened to so far, plus I was hoping someone would get me one of the more famous albums for Christmas – alas, it didn’t happen ) and Tom Petty – Wildflowers & All The Rest. I’ve wanted this forever, but it was a bit expensive, and so I only got around to it now. I loooooooooove Wildflowers
I’m sooooo hyped to throw these CDs in my car on my way to and from work

I bought the Abba The Albums CD boxset recently.
Great investment. I find that often their back catalogue is better than their most popular stuff. Do you agree?
Yes, although I enjoy all of their hits. There are some hidden gems in their back catalogue such as Merry Go Round, Disillusion, etc.

Wow! I wouldn’t mind more Streetheart in my life, all I gots is the “over 60 minutes w/…” CD bought for a buck. ” what kind of love is this?” Is one of the earliest those kind of formula power ballads, and one of the few I always liked…
More old-guy shownboating here, since I used to have 1000+ records and now only ~160 to brag about; lemme show you these two $1.00 beauties found at separate yard sales in ’85-6. Superb condition cardboard and vinyl, and 100 years of aging if you add em up:
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I’ve been horrible at posting in this thread the last couple of years. I’ve definitely bought a ton of CDs and records in that time, but I’ll make a mention of one of my discography completion missions. I’ve been working on collecting Chris LeDoux’s studio albums on CD. I was able to pick up his first 3 and his last one.

Haven’t done an update in a bit, looks like.
I got Fleetwood Mac (their 1975 “White Album “), Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace soundtrack (1999), and Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969) on CD for myself for my birthday and then while I was in Massachusetts I found a decently-priced copy of McCartney in a record shop, which makes the third Paul album I have on vinyl (my dad got me Ram and BOTR at various points years ago).
Still don’t have any Macca on CD but so far I don’t get the hankering to listen to his albums while driving (pretty much the only time I need CDs because our cars are old and never met an aux input ) much so it doesn’t much matter… perhaps I should though, 70s music is often very good for driving in my experience .
I say, there are a lot of eponymous albums in this list
