The Beatles and John Lennon win Grammy Awards

The Beatles and John Lennon were among the winners at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on 2 February at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles. It honoured artists, recordings, and compositions from 16 September 2023 to 30 August 2024, as chosen by the members of the Recording Academy.

The Beatles won Best Rock Performance for their November 2023 single ‘Now And Then’. The other category nominees were The Black Keys, Green Day, Idles, Pearl Jam, and St Vincent.

‘Now And Then’ was also nominated for Record of the Year, but lost out to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’. The category’s other nominations were ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ by Beyoncé, ‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter, ‘360’ by Charli XCX, ‘Birds Of A Feather’ by Billie Eilish, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ by Chappell Roan, and ‘Fortnight’ by Taylor Swift.

The super deluxe box set reissue of John Lennon’s 1973 album Mind Games won Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package, with art directors Simon Hilton and Sean Ono Lennon receiving the award. The other nominees were Alpha Wolf, Kate Bush, Nirvana, Unsuk Chin & Berliner Philharmoniker, and 90 Day Men.

The Rolling Stones won Best Rock Album for Hackney Diamonds, which features Paul McCartney on the song ‘Bite My Head Off’. It was the first time the Beatles and Stones were both nominated in the same year.

The final Beatles-related nomination was for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording. Guy Oldfield, the producer of the audio version of Peter Brown’s All You Need Is Love: The Beatles in Their Own Words, lost out to Jimmy Carter’s Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration. The other nominees were George Clinton, Dolly Parton, and Barbra Streisand.
