EMI Studios, Lagos
Producer: Paul McCartney
Engineer: Geoff Emerick
The eighth recording session for Wings’ third album, Band On The Run, took place on 12 September 1973.
The sessions were held at EMI Studios at 7 Wharf Road in Apapa, Lagos.
The precise recording dates are not known, but it is likely that on this day they recorded the song ‘No Words’.
The backing track had Paul McCartney on drums, Denny Laine on electric rhythm guitar with a wah-wah pedal, and Linda McCartney on electric piano.
They then overdubbed various electric guitar tracks, including a slide guitar part by Laine. The vocals for ‘No Words’ were recorded at AIR Studios in London.
