The instrumental ‘Hanglide’ was recorded during sessions for Paul McCartney’s sixth solo album Press To Play.
‘Press’ was released as a single on 14 July 1986, ahead of the album. It was not a commercial success, peaking at 25 on the UK singles chart and 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
A 12″ single contained ‘Press’ (Video Soundtrack), a Hugh Padgham mix lasting 4:43; Julian Mendelsohn’s remix of ‘It’s Not True’; ‘Hanglide’; and ‘Press’ (Dub Mix), a remix by Bert Bevans and Steve Forward lasting 6:18.
