A highlights disc containing 21-tracks from the John Lennon Anthology box set, Wonsaponatime was released on 2 November 1998 in the United Kingdom.
The collection of home demos, alternative studio outtakes and unreleased material was compiled by Yoko Ono, and several of the John Lennon Anthology tracks were edited to shorter versions.
Wonsaponatime was issued on the same day as the John Lennon Anthology. The single-disc collection peaked at number 76 in the United Kingdom, but failed to chart in the United States after its release there on 3 November 1998.
