Recording: Some People Never Know, Wild Life, I Am Your Singer, Bip Bop, Tomorrow by Wings

Studio One, EMI Studios, Abbey Road
Producer: Paul McCartney
Engineers: Tony Clark, Alan Parsons

A second overdub session for Wings’ Wild Life album took place on 30 July 1971.

The session was mainly for vocals, but began with a trumpet overdub on ‘Some People Never Know’, played by Denny Seiwell. The part was later wiped, although it survived on a rough mix.

An overdub that did survive featured various percussion instruments, which appeared at the beginning of the song. The instruments were the same as those used on the improvised ‘African Rhythm’ on 25 July.

‘Wild Life’ received lead vocals by Paul McCartney, followed by backing vocals by him, Linda McCartney, and Denny Laine.

The third song to receive overdubs was ‘I Am Your Singer’. The McCartneys added lead and harmony vocals, followed by the same on ‘Bip Bop’.

Paul then re-recorded his lead vocals on ‘Tomorrow’, replacing an attempt from 26 July.

After the session, tape operator Alan Parsons remained behind and created rough mixes of all eight songs recorded so far.
