Paul McCartney held a second day of auditions for guitarists on 11 October 1970.
The auditions, for what would become the Ram album, were held in a loft on West 45th Street in Manhattan, New York City.
At the end of the two days, McCartney selected David Spinozza to play on the album. During his audition, Spinozza was asked to play chords from ‘Another Day’, which became the first track recorded during the sessions.
Spinozza also told McCartney that he played piano and drums, and demonstrated both. Afterwards he returned to his apartment, where he received a call from Linda McCartney to book him for the next four weeks. The recording sessions for Ram began on 12 October 1970.
