Two days before he had his tonsils removed at University College Hospital, London, Ringo Starr gave an interview to music paper Melody Maker to discuss the operation.
At the paper’s office Starr also saw the weekly singles charts being compiled, with The Beatles’ ‘I Feel Fine’ at the number one position.
