Paul McCartney performs at Taylor Swift’s wedding

Paul McCartney was among the performers at Taylor Swift’s 3 July wedding to Travis Kelce.

The former Beatle performed the band’s 1963 hit ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ for the first time in more than 60 years.

Swift married US football player Kelce at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. McCartney’s performance took place at the reception event after the ceremony, where Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks also sang.

McCartney and Swift were interviewed together for Rolling Stone in 2020. He attended one of her Eras Tour concerts in London in June 2024, and she was in the audience at his show on 28 March 2026 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

Also present at the Swift/Kelce wedding were Pattie Boyd and her husband Rod Weston. Boyd was interviewed by Swift in 2018 for Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Wings performed at Madison Square Garden on 24 and 25 May 1976. McCartney played there during the Paul McCartney World Tour on 11, 12, 14, and 15 December 1989.

He returned there for The Concert For New York City on 20 October 2001; the Driving World Tour on 26 and 27 April 2002; the US Tour on 30 September, 1, 4, and 5 October 2005; the Concert For Sandy Relief on 12 December 2012; and for the One On One Tour on 15 and 17 September 2017.

John Lennon performed two shows at MSG, part of the One To One Festival, on 30 August 1972, and with Elton John on 28 November 1974. George Harrison also played there during his Dark Horse tour on 19 and 20 December 1974.
