John Lennon and Yoko Ono attend protest march in Washington, DC

John Lennon and Yoko Ono attended a protest in Washington, DC, on 27 June 1973.

The protest took place outside the South Vietnam embassy. Around 20 people demanded the release of Ng Ba Thanh, a law professor who had been a political prisoner in Thủ Đức, Ho Chi Minh City, since September 1971. Officials at the embassy told the protesters that her fate was for the Vietnamese courts to determine.
