John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr end management contract with Allen Klein

John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr ended their management contract with Allen Klein on 31 March 1973.

Klein had been appointed the business manager to three of the Beatles in 1969, but his methods and pugnacious attitude to business made him a divisive figure.

The contracts with Klein’s company ABKCO had been renewed for several months, but finally lapsed on this day. However, Klein subsequently launched a series of lawsuits to recoup monies that he believed were owed to him due to the prior agreements.
