Paul McCartney live: Apple Park, Cupertino

Paul McCartney performed at Apple Park, the headquarters of Apple Inc in Cupertino, California, USA, on 31 March 2026.

It was a special show for Apple employees to mark the technology firm’s 50th anniversary. McCartney was introduced to the crowd by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

A songwriter, a pioneer and one of the most influential artists of all time. I’ve been a lifelong fan of his music, and so have billions of people all over the planet. Sir Paul will be out in a few minutes. Enjoy the show, I love you.

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums), Kenji Fenton (saxophone), Mike Davis (trumpet), and Paul Burton (trombone).

The Beatles’ Apple Corps twice sued Apple Computer over alleged trademark infringement and music rights. A 1978 lawsuit was settled in 1981 for $80,000 and an agreement that the tech company would stay out of the music industry.

Another lawsuit in 1989 was over the inclusion of MIDI interface on Apple Macintosh computers, which Apple Corps claimed was a violation of the earlier agreement. The computing firm again settled, and in 1991 paid $26.5 million for the rights to the apple logo for computers and software, while Apple Corps retained it for producing and selling music.

A third lawsuit was launched in 2003 over iTunes, which The Beatles’ company claimed was another breach of the 1991 agreement. A British judge ruled in Apple Inc’s favour, leading to them gaining full rights to the trademark in 2007. That paved the way for The Beatles’ appearance on the iTunes store in November 2010.
