Rehearsals and filming took place at Elstree Studios. On this day Wings were in the studio to rehearse their concert sequence, which was filmed on 18 March. The rehearsals were filmed, and the audio was used for the final soundtrack.
Produced by ATV, James Paul McCartney was first broadcast on 16 April 1973 in the USA, and 10 May in the UK. It was released on DVD as part of the super deluxe reissue of in Red Rose Speedway December 2018.
