Recording: Red Rose Speedway by Wings

Wings began worked on seven songs for the Red Rose Speedway album between 26 November and 6 December 1972.

The sessions took place at AIR Studios in central London, and the songs were ‘One More Kiss’, ‘Single Pigeon’, ‘When The Night’, ‘Hands Of Love’, ‘Country Dreamer’, ‘Thank You Darling’, and ‘Tragedy’.

Lead vocals and bass guitar were added to ‘One More Kiss’, which still had the working title ‘Only One More Kiss’. Backing vocals were recorded for ‘Single Pigeon’, Henry McCullough added electric guitar to ‘Hands Of Love’, ‘When The Night’, and ‘Tragedy’, and Denny Laine overdubbed acoustic guitar to ‘When The Night’. Piano, electric guitar, lead and backing vocals, and percussion were all added to ‘Country Dreamer’, and vocals, electric guitar, and kazoo were recorded for ‘Thank You Darling’.
