Recording: Greenfield Morning I Pushed An Empty Baby Carriage All Over The City by Yoko Ono

Studio Three, EMI Studios, Abbey Road
Producers: John Lennon, Yoko Ono
Engineers: Phil McDonald, Andy Stephens

Following a recording session for John Lennon’s debut solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, on 25 October 1970 work continued on Yoko Ono’s track ‘Greenfield Morning I Pushed An Empty Baby Carriage All Over The City’.

The song had been recorded on 10 October, but a new edit piece was recorded on this day. It featured Lennon and George Harrison on tanpura.

Also recorded during this session was a re-recording of ‘Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Only Looking For Her Hand In The Snow)’. The song had been recorded on 3 October 1969, and released later that month as the b-side of the Plastic Ono Band’s second single ‘Cold Turkey’.

The re-recording featured Lennon and Ono on vocals, and was mixed the following day. The newer version of ‘Don’t Worry Kyoko’ was included on the 2021 reissue of John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.
