My Japanese copy of Let It Be (EAS-80561) which I bought for Y2,500 on a visit to Japan in the 1980s has a gatefold sleeve (similar to the US version I think) with a red Apple logo on the back (but the record’s labels are green apples). There is a four page insert in Japanese with a narrative about the album and the lyrics. I remember being amazed by the superior clarity of the sound compared to the British EMI version! So it is a joy to play. I’m now anxiously awaiting the 50th anniversary box set and the restored film which will be available on DVD – at last after all these years!
