That little video really makes me want to go see it.  I didn't know before about all the interesting surroundings.  I'll bet @Ahhh Girl could spend all day there just people watching.

Basking?

bask (verb): revel in and make the most of (something pleasing).
synonyms: revel in, delight in, luxuriate in, wallow in, take pleasure in, rejoice in, glory in, indulge oneself in

Yes, basking.

Oh, yeah, I'll be basking all right! I think I won't even go to the hotel first to drop off my luggage. I'll get off the plane and head straight to Abbey Road . I travel light, one backpack and one small carry-on sized rolling bag. I'll spend a few hours there taking it all in.

You see this is where i deviate from the rest of the universe as i have zero desire to go to see somewhere the Beatles once were and had their picture taken for an LP cover. And surely if thats the reason why folk want to go why dont they also head to the Palace Court Hotel in Bournemouth and find the room where the cover of 'With The Beatles ' was shot or head to Hype Park and try and find the trees the Beatles stood near for 'Beatles For Sale '?

And yes i know its near the EMI recording studios.

Humans baffle me.

Your London guide would be strange if it was taking you to Bournemouth, its 108 miles away.

They baffle me on an hourly basis. But, I'd still like to visit all the places you listed where the album covers were shot. Given the chance, I'd stand in the back yard of Kenwood à la

I think there'd be a certain fascination in just seeing with your eyes the changes in the surroundings that 40 years can make, we're all so much more familiar with the exact way that street looked from that one angle for a split-second in 1969. I loved that Monty Python retrospective where Michael Palin visited many of the old locations - "Look! It's the 'Fish Slapping Dance' pier!"

I saw that Michael Palin revisit. It was ruined by recreating the sketch.

I seem to have mercifully blanked that recreation from my memory.

Going back to the clip my memory is faulty, they don't recreate the dance as they cut to the original. Palin does dress up tho which annoys me. Why? It brings nothing of any additional value to the piece. Watching it thru and its cringingly bad.

Didn't the City actually move the crossing from it's original location in front of Abbey Road  many years ago?

Is that Volkswagen still parked there?? a-hard-days-night-george-10
