We’ve still got Paul and Ringo reunited live on stage with John and George (via holograms and aged to match) to come for Pepper’s 50th in May 2017. Woo hoo!Dont give them ideas.
You’re talking to the man who pretends to hate Apple, yet keeps offering them suggestions for tat to sell!

Also If anyone finds more clips please post them on this thread as this would be much appreciated. You might have luck searching dailymotion.com. For whatever reason, stuff that YouTube takes down tends to stay up there.

I’ve noticed a lot of links to dailymotion videos don’t work since the content has been deleted.

Do we know Julian wasn’t invited? Could it be that he has chosen not to attend these events? I don’t know. Somebody might have a quote from Julian bemoaning his lack of invitation, and declaring that he should be there as he was left at home 50 years ago. But without something that says Julian wasn’t invited, I don’t think we should assume.

Perhaps this can explain his absence:
A performer himself, it may surprise some that Lennon—who certainly has the musical chops to out-shine some of the acts involved in various Beatles 50th anniversary shows—isn’t celebrating the occasion with song.
“I just felt that [the photo exhibit] was really appropriate for me because I decided not to really partake or be tied in with the whole musical aspect with the Beatles 50th…with the Grammys [tribute]… It was all a bit of a mess… about who was performing what, when, where,” he explained.
Since Lennon resides primarily in Europe, a big U.S.-based performance just wasn’t in the cards.
“Listen, I appreciate the Beatles as much as everybody else, but the last thing I wanted to do—because it didn’t look like there was going to be an opportunity to perform, really— was stand in the audience clapping along to other people singing Beatles songs,” Lennon said.
“For me, it would be like a Beatles karaoke night. I’d just feel like a bit of an idiot, and I’ve never been a major fan of awards shows. It’s just not my cup of tea.”

A “by the way” on this topic: The American late night talk show host David Letterman started his career in late night TV in 1982 on the NBC network. As some of you may know, way back in 1993, he quit the NBC network when it failed to pass the Johnny Carson baton to him (instead giving it to Jay Leno), and he moved from Los Angeles to New York City and joined the CBS network.Where am I going with this? Have patience, grasshopper…
“The new [David Letterman] show debuted on August 30, 1993 and was taped at the historic Ed Sullivan Theater, where Ed Sullivan broadcast his eponymous variety series from 1948 to 1971.”
Letterman has held that show, in that famous venue, since 1993 right into our present (and he shows no signs of retiring any time soon).
Over the years, I remember the oddity of Letterman never having Paul McCartney on his show — when Jay Leno had Paul at least two times. This oddity became even more acute when in 2004, the 40th anniversary of the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan show came around. While Letterman’s show mentioned that anniversary several times, I found it odd that Paul would not appear on the show. Only years later, in 2009, did Paul finally appear on the show.
At least for the 50th, Paul and Ringo did tape a little “chat” with David on the famous stage (though apparently no audience is there):

And now Leno hands off to Jimmy Fallon, who makes no bones about sucking up to the musical heroes of his youth. (See: Springsteen, Bruce.) So I suspect we’ll see Paul on there sooner or later. I also found it rather odd that Paul took so long to show up on Late Show (don’t think he ever made it round to Late Night, either), though Ringo’s been on several times.

I really wish Paul would go back on Conan. I don’t think he’s been on since 1997!!
Way too long!

Thank you very much for that. As I suspected, Julian wasn’t not invited, but chose not to be there. His choice. So will all those people who keep jumping up and down and bemoaning the snub to Julian please shut the feck up!
The idea that Paul and Ringo wouldn’t want him there is insulting, but people were actually hinting that the problem was Yoko – even though he has appeared at many events with Yoko over the years. This was one he chose not to be at. No more, no less!

Maybe i work for Apple and use this site to bitch about how useless they are. Wouldn’t be the first person to complain online about how useless the company they work for is.
Should add, tho it really doesnt need it, that all 4 Beatles will be wearing their Pepper suits and will perform A Day In The Life live for the very first time together with full Orchestra and celebrity guests doing the backing vocals on the Ahhh’s.
People want a Beatles reunion, well you got it!

She’s a model, isn’t she? Maybe she’s just used to pulling that face.
Then her face would make sense. She looks like a model that can’t break that face.

^^ No, you’re right, sorry. For some reason I thought they were about two different things.
I’ll merge them now.
EDIT: No, hang on. This thread is meant to be about the show last night, isn’t it? And the other’s about their award/tribute show? I thought the two shows were different, or have I got really confused with all the stuff that’s been going on? Would appreciate some help here, as I seem to know f** all of what’s been going on.

They are the same show. Maybe you should merge and retitle the thread. The show was called: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute.

Right I’ll merge them, then. This’ll be fun, merging two threads that have 2 and 3 pages each.
Sorry about this everyone. This is my fault. I’ve been a bit lousy here.
