Three Beatles-era George Martin albums to be reissued

Three 1960s albums by George Martin and his Orchestra are to be reissued on 6 November 2026.

Off The Beatle Track (1964), Help! (1965), and …And I Love Her (1966) will be released by Parlophone on vinyl, compact disc, and streaming services, with audio remastered by Sir George’s son Giles.

This will mark the first time the albums have been available to stream, and the first time Help! and …And I Love Her have been issued on CD.

Off The Beatle Track was the first of a series of albums by Martin to feature arrangements of songs by Lennon-McCartney and their pop contemporaries. It was originally released on 10 July 1964, and had sleeve notes by John Lennon:

George Martin is a tall man. He is also a musician with short hair. In spite of this he records rock groups such as (Beatles, Billy J. Kramer, Gerry and the Pacemakers) to name four, and has earned the respect of everyone in the business (what business you might well ask).
We all owe a great deal of our success to George, especially for his patient guidance of our enthusiasm in the right directions (it was a patient George Martin who, on one of our early sessions, explained to a puzzled Ringo that it was a bit much playing a full drum kit, tambourine and maracas at the same time.
Us Beatles are genuinely flattered that a ‘real musician’ as we call him should turn his talents to arranging an LP of our songs, considering that he has previously worked with such great artists as Peter Sellers, Shirley Bassey, Jimmy Shand and a machine that sings ‘Daisy Daisy’. Some of the sounds on the album may be new to you (and me), that’s ’cause George has a great habit of matching unlikely instruments together (like a jews harp and a twelve stringed finger) but the results are great and I think he should get a raise. So plug yourselves in and listen.

To celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of arguably the most important producer in music history, Sir George Martin, Warner Music is pleased to announce the 6 November reissue of three albums of Sir George’s orchestral covers, two of which – Off The Beatle Track and Help! – are covers of The Beatles, with the third album – …And I Love Her – a mixture of various love song covers of songs from the 60s including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more.
Overseen by Sir George Martin’s son Giles, all three have been faithfully remastered from the original master tapes, replicating their original release. They are available on vinyl for the first time in decades, on CD in the U.K. for the first time ever and globally available on streaming platforms for the first time. Off The Beatle Track was the first of a series of orchestral releases by Martin and his first ever release under his own name. Originally released in 1964 at the height of Beatlemania, it was supported by the band and with liner notes written by John Lennon. Original copies of this vinyl are now in high demand due to its relatively limited release originally.
Help! was released the following year in 1965 and was the second release in the series. Again featuring instrumental arrangements of Beatles songs this reissue is true to the original UK release. The original US release tracklisting omitting ‘Bahama Sound’ and used some of the tracks’ working titles: ‘Auntie Gin’s Theme’ (‘I’ve Just Seen A Face’), ‘That’s A Nice Hat’ (‘It’s Only Love’) and ‘Scrambled Egg’ (‘Yesterday’).
…And I Love Her is widely regarded as one of Martin’s best instrumental projects. Featuring his signature “Studio 2 Stereo” sound, which brought a lush, easy-listening sophistication to several popular hits of the mid-60s. Unlike the other two reissues this album is Martin’s orchestral interpretations not of only The Beatles but artists including Petula Clark’s ‘Downtown’, The Righteous Brothers’ ‘You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling’ as well as self written tracks such as ‘All Quiet On The Mersey Front’, a track Martin wrote for the Ferry Cross the Mersey soundtrack.
These records came at a time when orchestral music had begun to embrace the sound of beat music – something it had initially dismissed as a ‘noisy’ genre, dismissing its integrity entirely. As Beatlemania grabbed hold of the world in the early 60s, and with respected ‘high-brow’ newspapers such as The Times of London giving serious analysis of Lennon and McCartney’s song writing, attitudes began to shift.
Soon, orchestral bands started performing and releasing their versions of The Beatles’ music, bridging a gap between the music past and present. Parlophone Records, with Sir George Martin as its head and of course The Beatles being one of their artists, began work on Off The Beatle Track. As the decade progressed, music genres like rock, folk, psych and prog began to truly dominate the world music scene, and in the short-lived period where classical first met pop/beat, Sir George Martin’s orchestral releases of The Beatles and other contemporary music of the time shone brightest.
