Fair Carol, St John, US Virgin Islands
Producer: Paul McCartney
Engineers: Geoff Emerick, Mark Vigars
Wings worked on two songs for the London Town album on 5 May 1977.
The session took place aboard the Fair Carol, a 105-foot yacht kitted out with studio equipment from the Record Plant in New York. It was initially moored in Francis Bay, St John, in the US Virgin Islands.
Paul McCartney began the day by recording ‘I’m Carrying’ on the deck of the yacht. It featured just guide vocals and acoustic guitar, to which he then added a second guitar part.
On the morning of the 5th, Paul recorded a track playing acoustic guitar on the stern deck looking out over a sun splashed sea. A dolphin surfaced to enjoy the super sound and splashed around the boat for some time.

In the evening, Wings worked on a new McCartney song, ‘I’ve Had Enough’.
That came about when I was just sitting around in the studio one day, doing rock ‘n’ roll kind of chords, just very simple bluesy kind of chords. And I just had the chorus. And the rest of it I used to just mumble. So we did it on the boat with me mumbling the vocal track and just shouting ‘I’ve had enough’ when it comes to the chorus. And I wrote some words to it and again we finished that off in London.

The backing track had McCartney on bass guitar and guide vocals, Denny Laine on rhythm guitar, Jimmy McCulloch on lead guitar, Linda McCartney on Moog synthesizer, and Joe English on drums. One of the studio technicians also played tambourine.
The day ended with three tape reels filled with jamming, including versions of ‘Find A Way Somehow’, which originally appeared on Denny Laine’s 1973 debut solo album Ahh… Laine!.
