John Lennon reworked ‘Stand By Me’ for release as a single on 3 February 1975.

Lennon overdubbed ARP synthesizer strings onto the recording, which was also remixed during this session. ‘Stand By Me’ was released on 10 March in the US, where it became a top 20 hit, but fared less well in the UK after its release on 18 April. The non-album track, ‘Move Over Ms L’, was on the b-side.
