John Lennon and May Pang travelled from Los Angeles to Nederland in Colorado, USA, on 10 August 1974.
They flew to Denver, then drove through Boulder Canyon to the Caribou Ranch in Nederland. Elton John was staying there to record his ninth studio album, Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy.
Lennon and Pang stayed there for two nights, flying to New York City on 12 August. While at the ranch Lennon recorded a version of ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ with Elton John.
