Paul McCartney had set up the MPL offices at 1 Soho Square in 1971. On 9 August 1974 he became the owner of the whole building.
McCartney had initially occupied two offices on the fourth floor, but had steadily expanded as Wings grew in stature. It was also beneficial to have the entire building for privacy reasons.
According to Land Registry filings, McCartney’s purchase of the property was finalised on 9 August.
