Recording, mixing: Tragedy by Wings

Studio Two, EMI Studios, London
Producer: Paul McCartney
Engineer: Richard Lush

Wings finished recording their cover version of Thomas Wayne Perkins’ 1959 hit ‘Tragedy’ on 28 January 1973.

They had recorded the backing track on 13 March 1972, and revived it on 23 January, adding piano and vocals.

On this day Paul McCartney recorded a sitar part. The song was then mixed in stereo in two attempts.
