Playback: Red Rose Speedway by Wings

Studio One, AIR Studios, London
Producer: Paul McCartney
Engineer: Bill Price

Wings undertook two days of playback sessions for the songs recorded thus far for the Red Rose Speedway on 16 and 17 October 1972.

The playback sessions were to decide which songs might require orchestral or choral overdubs. AIR Studios, where the sessions took place, was co-run by George Martin.

The songs being assessed were ‘Loup (1st Indian On The Moon)’, ‘Tragedy’, ‘Big Barn Bed’, ‘When The Night’, ‘Single Pigeon’, ‘Thank You Darling’, ‘The Mess’, ‘I Would Only Smile’, ‘Seaside Woman’, and ‘Mama’s Little Girl’. Not all the songs appeared on the album, or were even released by Wings.
