John Lennon and Yoko Ono, accompanied by Elephant’s Memory, performed at the Americana Hotel in New York City, USA, on 4 September 1972.
Lennon and Ono were in Vegas to appear on the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon earlier that day. The annual TV event was hosted by US comedian Lewis, and had been running since 1966.
At around 5.10pm, Lennon and Ono took to the stage at the Americana with the band, to perform for the telethon. They played three songs: ‘Imagine’, a new Ono song titled ‘Now Or Never’, and a reggae version of ‘Give Peace A Chance’.
The set was filmed and recorded, and the audio was finally released in the Power To The People box set in October 2025.
