John Lennon and Yoko Ono flew from Mérignac in Bordeaux, France, to Palma de Mallorca in Spain on 19 April 1971.
This was the first of several trips to Mallorca over the coming weeks, in an attempt to gain custody of Ono’s daughter Kyoko, whom they had last seen in August 1970. Lennon and Ono had received a lead that the seven-year-old was living on Mallorca with her father Tony Cox and his wife Melinda.
Upon their arrival in Palma de Mallorca, Lennon and Ono met a local lawyer, Cesar Lozano, and a representative from the British Consulate. They were accompanied on the trip by their assistant Dan Richter.
