Paul McCartney’s court hearing to dissolve The Beatles’ partnership – day six

26 February 1971 was the sixth day of Paul McCartney’s court hearing to have The Beatles’ business partnership dissolved.

An affidavit from McCartney was read in London’s High Court by his barrister, David Hirst, QC. It alleged that George Harrison had walked out of The Beatles on 10 January 1969 not due to an argument between the two men, but because Harrison “could not get on with Yoko [Ono]“.

McCartney also claimed that, during a telephone conversation, The Beatles’ business manager Allen Klein had told him: “John is angry with you because you came off better than him in Let It Be,” and that “the real trouble is Yoko. She is the one with ambition.” McCartney’s statement added: “I often wonder what John would have said if he had heard that remark.”
