Studio Three, EMI Studios, Abbey Road
Producers: John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Phil Spector
Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band’s song ‘Open Your Box’ was mixed in stereo at Abbey Road Studios on 23 February 1971.
The song had been recorded at an unknown session earlier in the year, and featured Ono on vocals, John Lennon, Klaus Voormann on bass guitar, and Jim Gordon on drums.
This was an overdub and mixing session, after which the song was considered complete. However, it was remixed on 4 March due to concerns by EMI over its lyrical content.
‘Open Your Box’ was released as the b-side of the ‘Power To The People’ single.
