Paul McCartney worked on the song ‘Oh Woman, Oh Why’ on 26 January 1971.
The backing track had been recorded on 2 and 3 November 1970.
On this day McCartney added his lead vocals, along with falsetto harmony vocals in places. He and Linda McCartney then recorded three tracks of backing vocals. Paul then added maracas in the final overdub of the day.
‘Oh Woman, Oh Why’ was completed the following day with the sound of gunshots. The song became the b-side of ‘Another Day’, McCartney’s debut solo single.
