The day after their second Ed Sullivan Show appearance, The Beatles enjoyed a well-earned day off in Miami, in which they tried water-skiing.
During their time in Miami they encountered another band, the BG Ramblers, from the Toledo Ohio area.

A guitar player from the Toledo Ohio area was lucky enough to get a photo taken with the Beatles during this Florida layover.
Billy Price, of the BG Ramblers, was a guitarist from Toledo and this picture was on the wall in Durdel’s Music Store, where I bought my Gretsch guitar.

My step father was John Ahlfors, he played guitar, trumpet, and sang in the BG Ramblers. “Dad” met many stars in those days. So many movie and TV stars (especially westerns he used to say). His best memory and story he liked to share was about meeting the Beatles. The Beatles and Elvis were his favorite musical acts. After serving the country with a tour in Vietnam (played in the Army band). He had a very successful business career in top management with Alcan Aluminum and a series of off shoots in the building materials industries.
In his later years, he continued his love of music singing (karaoke) at various locations in the Dallas, Texas. Sadly an hour before he passed, he had just sang at a favorite spot – June 2010.
