D’awww!
That was so cute how they hugged at the end (and Paul even gave Ringo a lil’ kiss )!
Thanks for sharing, @Midori78 !

Stop and Smell the Roses. It’s my silly ears, I think…and his shouting. It still makes me laugh.
“Stop! And take the time to buy this album, so I can PRANT roses and smell them all day long”
Edit: not really a song fragment that grabs me as much as a silly bit I posted about while still waking up. Haha…..

I love Vertical Man. It’s difficult to pick out the best bit really, buthe when I’m having a really rubbish day I can stick it on and it makes me feel at least a bit better if not fully cheered up. It’s just so uplifting. While recognising things may go wrong, it’s saying it’ll be alright in the end.

I really like his voice and he generally chooses his material very well to suit it.

The saxophone on It Don’t Come Easy was really groovy when I first heard it, and it made me think, “Hey, Ringo’s stuff isn’t so bad, I need to listen to more of it!”
I’ll always remember that song for getting me into Ringo’s solo music.

I dig his laid-back style. And I always swear up and down I’m not a country-genre person but Beaucoups of Blues blows me away. Even though there are some really depressing songs on there, lol. His baritone range sounds rather nice on my speakers, too. If only he got to do some lower harmonies with the other Beatles, lol. Country just suits him *so* well and he should try some of that again. A couple other albums that stand out include “Time Takes Time” and his “Very Best Of” collection.

Love this one. I always listen to it for motivation (e.g. before exams and stuff) Hats off to John for writing it.

I guess I never thought of it as an inspirational/motivational type of song. Always good to see some different perspectives. I like that one a lot too.

Bridges from Postcards from Paradise
“Each and every road is filled with choices
Have to decide which way to go
You can say where are you at
Turn around or go back
Or take a chance on what’s ahead, you’ll never know
Down every road, you come to bridges
Some are crossed and some get burned
And some you tear down
And new ones get built from what we learn, oh, oh”

Just heard “Give It a Try” off of Liverpool 8. I REALLY like it. I don’t notice as much filtering on his voice, and it also seems he was trying to expand his range a bit.
Or is it just me? Either way, the song, like many Ringo songs, makes me happy =)

Country suits Ringo. @Midori78, you are probably more of a country person than you know. I could probably turn you on to lots of country songs that are not annoying or cringeworthy.

You may be right. I happen to have a few country songs in my Amazon collection, by Hunter Hayes, Florida Georgia Line, and the Zac Brown band. I’d love to take a listen to some others, too. I could just be really picky about the genre. I’ve found that anything with a lot of harmonies in it – no matter what genre – is a major plus in my book. Fusions of different genres together also intrigue me. Like Babymetal which fuses heavy metal with pop idols, lol =)
I guess that’s why I also have such a liking for music of the 60’s and 70’s but I’m interested in branching out, too.
