Offline Well yes it was a pagan festival……..That’s why Christmas was illegal in the US until 1836.
Probably why, still to this day in Catalonia a smiley log called, the ‘shitting log’ poops out presents at Christmas. And the Christmas Ham I’ve learned was also a pagan tradition but the Catholic Church endorsed it as a test of truthful conversion from Judaism.
Traditions sometimes come out of nowhere and just surprise ……In Japan apparently it’s traditional on Christmas Eve to feast on KFC.
My tree goes up next Saturday……….

Offline I buy presents all year long as I see things I want to give people…things I think will make them happy and put a smile on their face. Just the short time I’ve known Ellie, she says I am a good present person.
I pulled the box the Christmast tree is in out of the closet last night. The boxes with ornaments and lights will be brought in from the garage today. We will check the light strings to see if they are working properly or if we need to buy more.
I think I will start wrapping presents this weekend. Next weekend I will address Christmas cards. I love Christmas cards!

I think I will start wrapping presents this weekend. Next weekend I will address Christmas cards. I love Christmas cards!

I’m going sending homemade Christmas cards this year (my lovely mammy got me a load of Disney stickers so I’m going to town on my cards ) to all of my friends who are in college- it’ll be a nice surprise for them, especially as I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like.
