John Lennon was interviewed by Newsweek reporter Barbara Graustark on 17 September 1980.
The interview took place at the Hit Factory studio, where Lennon and Yoko Ono were recording the Double Fantasy album. Graustark also spoke to the couple on 8 and 16 September.
The interview appeared in the 29 September 1980 issue of Newsweek, which went on sale on 22 September.
