Mixing: Old Siam Sir, Goodnight Tonight, Daytime Nighttime Suffering by Wings

Replica Studio, London
Producers: Paul McCartney, Chris Thomas

A mixing session for three Wings songs took place on 2 March 1979.

The first song completed was ‘Old Siam, Sir’, for the Back To The Egg album. It had been recorded on 18 July 1978, and was mixed in stereo on this day.

Paul McCartney had overseen several mixing sessions for the ‘Goodnight Tonight’ single in January and February, but remained dissatisfied with the results.

This day saw the creation of the final stereo mixes of the song and its b-side, ‘Daytime Nighttime Suffering’. The mixes of ‘Goodnight Tonight’ included the full 7:16 version and the 4:19 edit created on 29 January.
