The ninth recording session for Wings’ third album, Band On The Run, took place on 13 September 1973.
The sessions were held at EMI Studios at 7 Wharf Road in Apapa, Lagos.
The precise recording dates are not known, but it is likely that on this day they began recording the song ‘Let Me Roll It’.
The backing track had Paul McCartney on drums, Denny Laine on electric rhythm guitar, and Linda McCartney on electric organ.
The song’s vocals and the biting guitar riff were both recorded when Wings returned back to England.
